The Rotisserie

Got to put something out about this place before they expand until it is all over town and as common as Pastamania.

The Rotisserie is a place where they serves mainly roasted food. It is actually a mix between a fast food joint and a slightly atas restaurant. One place the order at the cashier, walk over to the serving counter and collect the food. No wait staff to serve at the table.

There are limited options like roasted chicken chicken or the mean fried pork knuckle; pork ribs and sausages. Prices ranges between $10.00 to $26.00 for main course. Each main comes with 2 sides. Unfortunately, they don't allow a mixture of cold and hot sides.

Food is nothing to shout about but at its price, it is quite value for money. Easy, convenient and fast to go. Foresee more outlets opening all over. Already there are 3 outlets in town with one more opening soon at OCBC Centre.

Teo Heng Teochew Porridge

My absolute favourite Teochew Porridge. But unfortunately, one that I can only get to eat once in a while because like all typical Teochew porridge, it's is quite pricey. There are 2 stalls, one at Hong Lim Complex and another at Amoy Street.

MacDonald

Everybody loves a big Mac. And the french fries. But just exactly what do they add in it?

A lady has kept a hamburger since 1996 and apparently to date the hamburger has not decomposed.

Now another lady in the Big Apple has kept a happy meal since April and although it has turned hard as rock, it has not decompose. Check out the series of photos here.

Hmmm it's almost enough to make me go out and buy a big mac and do my own little experiment.

Cheese Burger

Tried this hamburger from a stall in Lau Pa Sat.

At $5.00 and above for each burger, it was a tad pricey but they have a quite unique varities of burgers. They have one version that comes with the sticko blue cheese. I tried the Cheese Melt which come with turkey, bacon bits and lots of cheese and it was pretty good.

I think this is a chain from the Philipines but I can't remember the name of the stall.

Worth giving it a try especially those who like cheese.

Popeye

Surprised the family when I announced that we were going to eat fast food for dinner on Sunday evening. Had heard alot about Popeye Chicken and decided must go and try one time. Went to the outlet at T3.

The place is quite small so had to wait a while before getting a seat.

Ordered 4 pieces chicken combo which comes with 4 pieces of chicken, 2 sides and 2 drinks. For the sides, we had the whipped potatoes which a friend said was simply the best. Also had the prawn combo (they called it popcorn shrimp) and the fish.

The chicken was indeed good. Fried nicely on the outstide yet soft and moist on the inside. The prawn and fish was also nicely fried. The kids loved the whipped potatoes and I quite like the 'biscuit' which is actually fried bread. Unfortunately, the drinks had lost its frizz and tasted very flat otherwise the whole meal could have been very satisfactory although a bit sinful for the body:)
